Dr Alexandros Roniotis
I am Alexandros Roniotis, teaching in the Hellenic Mediterranean University at the Department of Social Work. I teach Information Technology Applications and Academic Writing. Since 2023 I have been a school principal in Public Education in Heraklion, Crete. I also teach Computer Science modules in Post-secondary Higher Vocational Education.
I am an ambassador for Scientix, the EU community for science education in Europe.
Personal Information
I was born in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, on September 7, 1983, and am the father of two children: Konstantina and Eleftherios. I now live in Heraklion, Crete, I have lived in Athens, Samos, and London. I speak Greek, English and German.
I love nature exploration and landscape photography and have been an active basketball, padel tennis and Crossfit athlete.

2007: MSc in Signal Processing and Communications, from the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Imperial College London, United Kingdom. Thesis Application of the shape context model in symbol detection in paleography.
2006: BSc (Distinction) at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications (DIT), University of Athens, Greece, Thesis Greek Handwritten Character Optical Recognition.
